With ball bearing lock up clutch. No starter motor; no oil filter. This 3" electric start belt drive is designed to be used on 70-78 Shovelhead models with the ratchet top type 4-speed transmission; with rear chain only. Modifications are necessary to install this kit. Amongst others: When fitted to FX models; the oil tank bracket must be cut to allow proper fitment of the starter. On FL models this modification is not necessary. On both FL; FX models a L79-86 clutch arm (MCS 516400; OEM 37054-79A) must be used. Some clearancing work on this arm is needed. The Street Drive is; and has been; the standard in 3" open drives for years. Complete with the performance proven standard BDL (ETC) clutch. With 76-47 drive ratio. Note: A BDL starter is available as 518658. Any other 89-93 model starter motor can also be used; as long as it has stock dimensions. Note: See 506920 for the replacement 3" wide 144t; 8mm belt. Comes with outboard support bearing. This kit is basically identical to the great working regular BDL 3" open electric start kits. The difference is in the BDL outboard bearing support system; for improved strength and rigidity. Comes with the BDL ball bearing lock-up clutch and a 72-47 drive ratio. Black anodized finish. This BDL 2" belt drive is of a ''wide-open'' design. Features a 2-piece motor plate for that nice open look between the engine and transmission as found in many Shovelhead type open drives. Comes with a 52-69 pulley drive ratio and a 6-bolt diapragm clutch configuration with a slightly different; more true; feel. Note: See 518531 for the replacement 142t. 2" wide 8mm belt.
